What sets Wildside Canine apart from other dog training companies?
As the owner and operator of Wildside Canine each client that walks through my door is of utmost value, from the start of my business my goal has been to bring real change and improve confidence to owners struggling with their dogs behavior.
Here at Wildside Canine we take a hands on approach to training and believe owner involvement is key to seeing improvement. Our board and train programs boast a unique system of training that gives owners the most hands on and comprehensive take to their dogs training. With weekly hands on training that involves the owner and allows owners to truly gain the knowledge necessary to maintain training going home. Along with deeper dives into some of the most fundamental parts of dog training you get all the tools and material necessary to see long lasting results.
I don’t believe there is one size fits all, as your trainer I take a problem solving approach to each dog and sometimes we have to get creative! I take into account each owner and dog as a unique partnership and the proof is in the pudding. I value real results, if one method of training isn’t working I am determined to find what does!
About Autumn English
Autumn English grew up in Washougal, Washington and has lived in the Camas area for close to 10 years. Ever since she was young she had a passion for animals, learning and teaching. Finding a love for helping people she found a niche in not only training animals but training people too!
The start of this journey was, raising and training her standard poodle Lady, just over four years ago and realized she had a desire and love for animal behavior and behavior modification of reactivity. After starting to work with Lady she began to notice friends and family around her struggling with their pets as well. This lead her to start offering up what she knew (which in comparison to now was very little) of dog training. Which soon grew into a full client base, as she gained referrals and more satisfied clients.
Over the years Autumn has been diligent to learn as much as possible about the world of dog training. From starting out with self education in animal behavior and theory through countless hours of research, online seminars and hands on experience through family and friends. Not long after diving into training she was hired and mentored under a successful trainer out of Vancouver. She has had the opportunity to work in various dog sports, including conformation, agility, barn hunt and rally obedience. She is CPR certified to best help any canine during an emergency situation. Along with receiving her dog training certification through Top Tier k9 out of Milton, FL.
My training philosophy …
Founded on the principal that each dog has a unique potential to do something amazing! I believe that every dog, no matter the size or problem, has room for improvement and I strive to attain every dogs individual potential. Every dog was bred for a specific purpose and have individual capabilities, which means each training session must be specifically tailored to your dog! By utilizing the tools necessary to set your dog up for success(such as, treats, praise, e-collars, slip leashes and prong collars) we can help improve your relationship and obedience with your canine companion! My goal is to help build your confidence as an owner and handler and to build a more clear and structured relationship between you and your dog. I place an emphasis on owner understanding and am not satisfied with just having a well mannered dog during training sessions; I want to be able to equip owners with the information and tools needed to carry that behavior through out their dogs life. To do this we work to help you best understand your dog and their individual needs plus focus on handler techniques and understanding dog behavior. Allowing you to correct or encourage behaviors eliminating any grey areas. Whether you want to travel the country or watching a movie together on the couch, we can work to achieve realistic goals for you and your furry friend!
